Struggling to meditate? Try the 'Waking Up' app.
It's a good idea to use an app if you’re new to meditation, or are struggling to build a consistent habit. 'Waking Up' by Sam Harris is a standout in a crowded space.
If you’re new to meditation or struggling to get into a consistent habit, I recommend using an app. One that stands out for me is the Waking Up app by Sam Harris. Many people don’t like Sam Harris as he’s been seen as quite antagonistic towards different faith communities. If, however, you can ignore that, you’ll be onto a rich resource of insightful meditation content.
Sam is building up a great library of content on the app and has recently added the entire collection of talks from Alan Watts, valued at $340 alone. Added to collections of poetry by David Whyte and series on Stoicism by William Irvine, Effective Altruism by William MacAskill, and the importance of sleep with Matthew Walker, to name a few, and you have a fantastic resource for mental well-being.
Oh wait, this is supposed to be a meditation app.
Well, there’s plenty of that too! From the well structured 28-day intro course to dozens of conversations with meditation experts from all walks of life, there is already enough content for a lifetime (probably quite literally).
Give it a go, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
